*CLOSED*After seeing construction in the retail space at the corner of Lynn Williams St and Pirandello St for quite some time, it was great to finally see Day & Night Cafe Lounge open for business a few weeks ago.

We had the opportunity to visit the newly opened Liberty Village business very recently and were impressed with what we discovered.

The space is inviting and bright – benefiting from the well-lit corner and residential and park views. There are a few seating options but our favourite was the zebra-striped lounge with banquet seating, solid wood block tables, black lace chandelier and exposed duct work.  The lounge has astonishing clear views of  tree-lined Pirandello. It really does have a private and relaxing feel to it.

A defined section at the back of the space has a bright coffee bar feel with bar stool seating and views of the neighbourhood. The third space is an open-concept section with contemporary furniture, pendant lighting and other designer touches. It feels like many of the lofts we sell around the neighbourhood.

Day & Night Cafe Lounge executes its coffee well. They serve Te Aro Artisan coffee from one of Toronto’s best coffee roasters and offer a good selection of espresso-based drinks and accompanying baked goods.

The menu is small but varied enough that there is something for all tastes available.

Paninis include grilled chicken ($10), ham and brie ($10), grilled shrimp ($12), fried Tilapia ($12) and scrambled tofu ($8).

Salads include the house green salad ($8), watermelon prawn salad ($10) and baked brie salad ($10).

From the tapas menu, there are a variety of small plates that include pan seared tofu ($10), cilantro chili spiced wings ($12), Szechuan sliders ($12), crab cakes ($14) and shrimp tempura ($14).

For dessert, they offer a housemade New York style cheesecake ($5).

Day & Night Cafe Lounge is licensed to sell alcohol and offer 3 local beers on tap (Flying Monkeys, Creemore Springs and Steam Whistle), a small wine list and mixed drinks.

Fellow Liberty Village’rs, go out and try Day & Night Cafe Lounge. Support your local businesses and let us know what you think in our comments section or on our Restaurant Review Forum.

I use to come to Day and Night every night for the free internet to enjoy the wonderful cofee socialize with my friends until last night he had a party at the store while the store was closed and I tried 2 open the door and knock because i seen people in there and i was told to get lost ( by the manager while he had a girl around his arms ). I thought he was a father as the owners told me and was going to change this store around he just made this place another for himself to pick people up and his friends to party THAT IS LOW HE HAS 2 GO !!
