Liberty Village comes alive in the summer time and if there was any doubt that Liberty Village is full of fun look no further than the lineup of events in the neighbourhood this summer! The Liberty Village Residents’ Association has announced some fantastic events for summer 2018! Here’s a list of the events that have been announced so far.

#1 – 2nd Annual Symphony in LV Park

On Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 3pm in LV Park the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra will perform your favourite show and movie tunes in the great outdoors! This was a last minute edition to the event programming last year and it was so magical the LVRA decided to bring it back!! It’s a free event so come on out and relax in the sun to some beautiful music  Special thanks to Kathleen Baussbich Stanley – our local musician who has helped bring this event to LV!

On Friday, August 24th, at 8pm is our 18th Movie in LV Park

Come join the Rock, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and your neighbours for the last movie night of the summer. It’ll be epic!!

#7 – Our final one is a special one as it has to do with giving back.

Here at the LVRA we have fundraised for numerous causes – ALS, Suicide Prevention Hotline, Parkinsons’ Foundation, homelessness – just to name a few. They were small but meaningful donations because, well, let’s face it, we had no money. But as we grew in size, as more condos joined and believed in our vision and as more community members and local businesses worked with us – we knew we wanted to make more of an impact.

While connecting neighbour to neighbour, helping you find your invisible connections, getting together to celebrate at events are all wonderful, we also felt it important to acknowledge how very privileged we are to live here in Liberty Village, and to acknowledge that many people do not have the same opportunities we might.

To that end, we are very excited to announce that we have entered into a multi-year charitable commitment with MLSE Launchpad.

This incredible facility will serve the downtown east communities of Moss Park, Regent Park, the Garden District and more with incredible opportunities for innovation, growth and collaboration, all through the lens of sport. Their 4 pillars of Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready for School, Ready for Work will no doubt help countless youth reach their potential and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.

Many thanks to our board of directors (especially Leala McInerney for shepherding this through), our member condo building’s for their ongoing support, to all our local businesses and to our amazing sponsor Beanfield Metroconnect!! We couldn’t build this village in a city without you 🙂

We will be looking for more ways to engage with this incredible organization – through volunteer opportunities, internships and more so please reach out if you have an idea. We’d love to connect and see what we can make happen!

Special thanks to Todd Hofley and the LVRA for the announcements and organizing such fun events. It will be a great summer.
