Dear Liberty Village Residents,

The City of Toronto is in the final stages of detailed design for the new pedestrian / cycling bridge to be constructed over the Metrolinx Union Station Rail Corridor, from Douro Street to the western leg of Western Battery Road.

We invite you to view the latest drawings and information on our recently updated web page:

Let us know what you think of this design for the King-Liberty Pedestrian / Cycling Bridge. Although we are at the 90% design stage, there is still some opportunity for minor changes. So tell us what you think could be improved.

waste of money. This bridge should be a roadway connecting Pirandello with Shaw to alleviate the congestion at East Liberty and Strachan. The roadway could obviously be also used as a pedestrian bridge with sidewalks along the roadway. The more and more condos going up in Liberty and taller the traffic will soon be a nightmare in the area caused by poor planning. One example is that Strachan should have been upgraded to 2 lanes in each direction, but this is now almost impossible.

The John above me is so wrong and a bit clueless.

I’m also named John, but more roads means more traffic and a pedestrian bridge is great. It will move a lot more people on bikes and feet than a road would encouraging those cyclists and walkers to drive instead.

    It’s 2018 not 1958
