One of our favourite times of summer is when the semi-annual dining event, Summerlicious, comes around! More than 220 restaurants and eateries are participating in this throughout the city. Bent, Bloom, Canoe, Kasa Moto, La Societe, Momofuku, Parts & Labour and Wish are just a handful of wonderful places joining in on the Summerlicious fun.  It is exciting to also note that Liberty Village’s own, The Craft Brasserie, has both a lunch and dinner menu available for the event!

What’s the Hype?

Since 2003, when the event initially began, it has helped create awareness and exposure for many businesses. During the first year, 35 eateries took part, and it has now since quadrupled with over 200 participating. The City of Toronto are the organizers of this event, helping to generate millions of dollars in economic development for the restaurant industry. Non-chain restaurants are invited to participate in the semi-annual two week event, based on various criteria including: adhering to certain price standards, having a clear health inspection record, and positive testimonials.

For any true foodie in the city, this is the ultimate event to taste and sample various places throughout the city on a pre-fixed budget while not compromising taste or experience. Lunch menus are slightly less expensive than the dinner versions.

Lunch and Dinner at The Craft Brasserie

The Craft Brasserie offers a three course lunch menu priced at $18 per person and a three course dinner menu at $28. Choose an appetizer, a main and then a dessert. The shrimp guacamole and the lumpia spring rolls are always a crowd favourite to start off a meal. Their main dishes are scrumptious so anything that is chosen is sure to be great. A few different sandwiches are offered like The Cuban Stack, the Mushroom Truffle Burger and the Craft Classic Burger. If something a little lighter is preferred, then the Spicy Mushroom Flatbread or the Baked Ore & Cheese are excellent choices. Dessert is served with a choice of either Strawberry Rhubarb Tart, Chocolate Candied Donuts or the White Chocolate Brownie.

As the restaurant name suggests, The Craft Brasserie has an extensive selection of craft beer. Order one of the 120 craft beers available to compliment your meal. Better yet, order a flight, and sample 4 different varieties.

Summerlicious ends Sunday, July 24th. Walk-ins and reservations are accepted so hurry in and enjoy!
